After Summer

A story that is lost

“After Summer” evokes the warmth and the freedom of youth, encapsulating the bittersweet transition from the carefree days of summer to the weight of adult responsibilities. The vibrant yet melancholic canvases, painted in rich dark greens and golds, symbolise the fading glow of youthful dreams and the unantici- pated challenges that shape our aspirations. Drawing inspiration from the resilience of the lotus flower, these artworks serve as a metaphor for personal growth, urging viewers to confront their struggles while nurturing hope and renewal. Through this series, Ming explores the tension between the promise of potential and the reality of life’s complexities, fostering introspection about our individual journeys.
